Police Social Worker

The Police Social Worker provides crisis intervention, assessment, case management, and referrals for individuals and families experiencing mental health, substance use, domestic/family issues, abuse, or other critical needs. The Social Worker connects residents with appropriate community resources, supports victims and vulnerable populations, and follows up on cases requiring additional assistance.

The position develops and strengthens partnerships with schools, government agencies, behavioral health providers, and community organizations to address unmet community needs, with a focus on mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, child and elder safety, and access to basic needs. The Social Worker also provides community outreach, education, training, and prevention initiatives to promote a safe, healthy, and supportive community.

The Social Services Unit is staffed by Erica Rios-Corbin, a Master Level Clinical Social Worker.
